Conservation

Proceeds from every sale go to conservation efforts big and small. On top of that, we help spread awareness about what’s going on in the conservation world, and help keep everyday anglers connected to the important work being done out there.

Over time, we'll introduce more fish along with more conservation partners.

5% of our gross profits are sent to the groups, based on customer fish selection. For example, when a customer purchases a redfish polo, proceeds from that sale are sent to a redfish effort. Our website will be the place to see your contributions in action. We can’t wait to let our actions do all the talking. Until then, keep up with us!

The Billfish Foundation (TBF)

TBF runs the largest international billfish tagging program in the world. The research helps combat the destructive effects of international, commercial long-line fishing. They use state of the art satellite tags to understand behavior, chart migration and assess stocks. To learn more, visit TBF’s website.

Waddell Mariculture Center (WMC)

WMC produces fingerlings and provides expertise for redfish stock enhancement and fishery management projects across the southeast. Over the past five years WMC has released over 15 million redfish. To learn more, visit WMC’s website.

Dolphinfish Tagging Research Project (DTRP)

DTRP uses state of the art technology to track migration and assess stocks. Dolphin research receives zero public funding, but the commercial harvest of dolphin is growing. Comprehensive management plans are needed, and this research makes them possible. To lean more, visit DTRP’s website.

Capt. Theo Jourdan

"I’ve caught a lot of redfish, but I will always remember the first one, in the surf at night in Ocracoke, N.C. It was a monster, and I’ve been hooked ever since…"

Capt. Theo Jourdan

This experience is only possible because of the conservation efforts which have brought redfish back to Ocracoke, N.C. Not long ago, the number of redfish dwindled dangerously low due to poor fishing practices. Dedicated research and effective management policies have allowed them to prosper and fight another day. At Homewaters, 5% of our gross profits are sent to a conservation effort specifically supporting your favorite fish.

Our goal is to make a difference. Your support makes it possible.
